99 cent stores???
New Hampshire does not have sales tax, so why would you want to run a 99 cent store? If you make it a dollar store, then you won't have to deal with change at all!!!

Here's a picture of a page in my dictionary to which I randomly flipped this morning while I was confirming that I know how to spell 'appreciate'. I thought it was pretty funny that this word made the cut as a guide word, so now it's today's word of the day.
Oh, and I had to look online to find out that the words at the tops of the pages in a dictionary are called guide words. I guess I learned my one new thing for today.
As long as I'm wasting your time, I should also mention that the aforementioned dictionary:
1. Is a Webster's Dictionary - Vest Pocket Edition - Marketed exclustively to the vest wearing set?
2. Does not contain the word aforementioned.
Have a great day.
I had a bit of a bummer yesterday. I launched the rocket pen and it had a bad trajectory. I thought it was going to go over the wall into Tom's cube. When I went to catch it, it hit the wall and came down on top of Kit Fisto and broke his lightsaber. Bummer - gonna need some super glue!
See, just when you think that all the news is bad (or about celebs), someone catches a great big toad.
Actually, it's been a good year for animal stories:
In January, they found a weird shark in Japan. And then in February, some fisherman caught the biggest Colossal Squid off the coast of New Zealand (and they're going to microwave it!)
Oh, and don't forget about last year's snails!
I've done some stuff, and I'm gonna do more stuff. I'll do an update one of these days. In the mean time, I figured I should blog something, so here's a funny ditty from Annie - who primarily uses venison in her cooking because Jeff hunts:
Raising Rednecks
On the way home from church yesterday, Nathan asked, "Mom, if you want to eat a cow, do you hide in the barn and shoot it with a gun?"
A very big Thank You to everyone for a great weekend in DC!
Thanks to Felicia and Ken (and Congrats!),
to John, Nikki, Aubrey and Brenna (and Congrats!),
to Jenn and Cheryl,
to Pete and Katy,
to Amanda, Pete, Nina and Allison,
to Chris,
and, of course, thanks to Katie and Sean for being great hosts.
For those who weren't there - I had a great weekend in our nation's capital.
I got to visit Katie's, the Kusano's and the Morriseau's apartments - all are very nice.
I got a tour of the Coast Guard HQ and had lunch there. Sean is an excellent tour guide - he told us all about the boats and showed us some old stuff that someone saved.
I got to visit the Spy Museum (and two other museums).
I got to go to 2 brew pubs.
I got to see a great view of DC from the Kusano's balcony.
I got to do Trains, Planes and Automobiles.
I got to play Katie's new 30 Second Mystery game.
I got to watch the Daytona 500.
I got to watch "The Guardian" with an actual Guardian (and join him in talking all through it!)
And, best of all, I got to see good friends, make some new ones, and get to know my new (future) nephew better. Thanks again to everyone.
There was an article on Yahoo about serving wings for the Super Bowl, and that got me thinkin' 'bout wings. I did a search for the best buffalo wings - but got side-tracked by looking up buffalo wings on Wikipedia. Well, all that nonsense led me to discover the National Buffalo Wing Festival.
Sounds like fun - I may have to plan a trip. Be sure to check out the various contest winners - 158 wings in 12 minutes! 3.2 pounds of wings in 8 minutes! Them fellas likes t' eat!
I may also have to visit some of the restaurants that won. But, it would take a lot to beat the Anchor Bar.
